Ramon Jarel Bradshaw, Sr. was the son of Elizabeth Bradshaw. He had a son and planned on getting married. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He graduated from King High School in June 1988, where he was a track star. He had a choice between a college scholarship in track or serving his country. He enlisted in the navy in July 1988. He was killed in the explosion of gun turret #2 on the USS Iowa, during training maneuvers in the Atlantic Ocean off of Puerto Rico. He was buried with full military honors.
