This job is tough and crazy. It could drive your sanity to the roof sometimes. But it is all worthwhile when you see your recruits succeed. Two of my recruits became Navy Seals, a few I know became Naval Officers and Chiefs by now. One of my favorite RCPO was my shipmate, and funny we both at times stood quarterdeck watch together. When I reported to the USS Pearl Harbor, one of my former recruits and now shipmate did not even want to be seen by me again in the galley for chow. He must have had a traumatic experience with me in boot camp. Sorry shipmate! Get over it and enjoy your your steak and crab legs! Be glad I am at your service this time.
