What are you doing now:
Lyda and I currently live in Lenoir City a small town located just outside Knoxville, TN. Our town
is on the Tenneesse River at the Ft. Loudon Dam/River locks. We love it here and have becomed thoughly involved in the community. We love the people, mountains and many lakes
in this part of the Smoky Mountains/East TN. This is the best place we have ever lived.

PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE NAVY.
My Dad and Mother as I got the draft notice in 1963, they told me I was not going in the Army as our family all went in the Navy, my dad and mom meet and married in WW 2 and my dad continued on until 1969 when he retired from the Naval Reserves.

OF ALL THE MEDALS, AWARDS, FORMAL PRESENTATIONS AND QUALIFICATION BADGES YOU RECEIVED, OR OTHER MEMORABILIA, WHICH ONE IS THE MOST MEANINGFUL TO YOU AND WHY?
I was selected for the Levering Smith Award (Submarines), in 1998 and my wife Lyda and I were flown to Washington, DC.for 3 days, Where I got have lunch with the Sec of Def, Chair of the Joint Chief of Staff, and 5 Medal of Honor Recip. and where1200 other guests were present and I got to speak at the Luncheon and attend that night at the Awards Dinner in our honor. It was a complete suprise and such an Honor and we will never forget.
