PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE NAVY.
Every time my parents would take me to the Selfridge Air National Guard base for the airshows with either The Blue Angels or The Thunderbirds. As we would walk among the many static displays of Planes, Jets and Helicopters. I always noticed these kids in Navy uniforms. So the 1983 Selfridge ANG Air Show, my parents and I finally came across these Kids in Navy Uniforms Information booth, which I found out they were called The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp. (USNSCC) Air Show's were always in July and I volunteered/joined in September of 1983.
LCDR John Kaszubowski and LT Helen Kaszubowski ran the TOMCAT SQAUDRON, at Selfridge ANG Base.
I was involved in the Sea Cadet Program from Sept 1983 - Aug 1988 before enlisting into The United States Navy as an Electrician's Mate.
