Reflections on CPO Anderson's US Navy Service

 Reflections On My Service

PLEASE DESCRIBE WHO OR WHAT INFLUENCED YOUR DECISION TO JOIN THE NAVY.
When I was a Senior in High School the decision to join the Navy was not the first thing on my mind when getting ready to think of the future after High School. I come from a large family where money was not flowing readily and my mother had passed away when I had been a sophomore..what to do if I wanted a career in the Medical field. A friend and classmate of mine, Charlene Speigel had signed up for the USN & told me to talk with her recruiter. He came to my house and I decided I would join the USN..get an education and a career. I did not inform my father until he had to sign my papers. Looking back now I would not have changed my decision to join the Navy.
