Reflections on MCPO Langlois's US Navy Service

 Reflections On My Service

TO THE BEST OF YOUR KNOWLEDGE, WHAT INFLUENCED HIS/HER DECISION TO JOIN THE NAVY?
Joe Oles, who had already been in the navy for a few years, before me, was my biggest influence. He loved it and I suppose if was good enough for him, it would be OK with me.
When it was time for me to leave the navy, Cuba reared it's ugly head, in late 1962 early 63 and all those on active duty and with x amount of time before discharged were involuntarily extended. So I re-enlisted for four more years. Besides I rather enjoyed my time in the navy, so it was not really a hard decision. Good ship, good crew, Merry Christmas turn to.
