Other Comments:
I'm in the process of updating information on this page. My name is Debra, Bob and I were married 21 years when he died. We have two beautiful daughters, Charity and Dawn who's husbands are also in the Navy, stationed in Virginia Beach.
If you knew "Bob" and would like to leave a message or comment we would enjoy hearing from you. Please check back often as I will try to update this as much as I can.
Best Friends I can't remember there names, but Bob had many, especially those who trained with him during pt. The date he went through training was Sept.1980, he graduated Dec.1980.
Worst Moment Bob had difficulty during his pt training because he had a bad knee due to polio when he was a child. He credits his buddies for helping him get through some rough moments.
Other Memories Bob joined the Navy at the age of 26 after the construction Insdustry slowed downed. I remember him telling me how hard it was for him during basic training because he had to keep up with all the young guy's in his company. He told me some amazing stories of how these guys would rally around him, to push and encourage him during pt excercises. Thier were moments when he thought he wasn't going to make it. You see, Bob had polio in his left knee, as a child he had to wear braces on his legs in order to walk. The braces came off during his teenage years. I heard stories from several of his buddies, how he was such an inspiration to them, that he inspired these guys because of his determination of not giving up. He was so proud of himself when he graduated boot camp....
