Scott Allen Appleby, 55, died at his residence in Clarksville. He was a native of Scott Field, IL and was retired after 20 yrs service in the US Navy. He was very involved with the University of Louisville's women's softball and volleyball teams and had close friendships with many of the players, their families and the coaching staff. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Virginia May Appleby.

Visitation will be from 1-8 PM Sunday at Seabrook, Dieckmann, & Naville Funeral Homes, 1119 E. Market St., New Albany, IN. Funeral service will be held 10 AM Monday at the Market Street Chapel 

A graveside memorial with full military honors will be held Tuesday in the New Albany National Cemetery in New Albany, IN

Scott died from smoke inhalation from a fire at his home.
