After retiring from active duty, served as civilian employee of the Department of Defense at: Naval Postgraduate School (1989-1993), Naval Doctrine Command (1993-1996) where I was awarded the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award in 1996, US Atlantic Command / US Joint Forces Command (1996-2002) where I was awarded the Joint Meritorious Civilian Service Medal in 1998, and finally at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (2002-2009).
