Doing my best to combat Heart Disease: CHF (Congestive Heart Disease).  I'm not going to WIN this battle, but hopefully, I'll be able to keep it at bay and be around for another few years... Today's date is: 11DEC14.  A point of reference.

To keep this CHF in Check, is to maintain a very strict diet and an equally check on the liquids that I take in: presently allowed 48 ounces daily.  The other part is a Low Sodium Diet, try to stay under 1,500 mg. daily and NOT to exceed 2,000 mg.

I spend a lot more time in the Kitchen and a whole lot less time on the Golf Course and at the bowling alley.  I miss these two pleasures.  So I have replaced it with some domestic chores, Kitchen duty and also with my Fantasy Football Team, I also have really gotten into NASCAR, my favorite team is Hendrix Motors.  Jeff Gorden being my favorite driver.

I continue to work at clearing out my Baseball Card Collection and also my HUGE Stamp Collection.  I am giving it all to those that I feel will enjoy the hobbies as much as I did.  Just mailed off three boxes of stuff to two friennds and my favorite nieces son:  Dustin of Tustin (Orange County California).

I can't do much in the line of physical work, but do my best to get a 30 minute walk in about 5 days a week.  Also, I have an exercise program that I work on at least 5 to seven day weekly.  I also keep up with ALL my prescribed medications; I take them religiously!

Also, I have been reding from the Bible on a daily basis.  When I leave this World, I am going to Heaven!!!

NPCA Reunion May 2010:  L to R:  Me PCCM (Ret) Carl Montoya
and PCCM (Ret) John Peters, most senior PCCM of NPCA.

Darlene" Dar" Williams and I  at the banquent at the Palace Station.
Dar was one of my "STAR Postal Clerks" at FMC, Yokohama, Japan.
We served together from 1982 to 1984.

We vacationed here for a few days in September. An
absolutely beautiful location on the Oregon Coast.

I especially enjoyed the sunsets and photgraphing them.
Each day the weather patterns are so different.

"Big Stump Beach", the beach area provided for some long
walks and exploring.  This stump is an Historic spot on the
beach.   Six miles of un-interupted beach; so much of the
Oregon Coast is Rocky and hard to navigate around on foot.

Doe and her Fawn.  She 'dropped' her fawn in our back
yard right off of our patio!  We did not witness the actual
birth, but did watch the doe 'clean up' the fawn and did
get to see the first wobbly steps.

Doe and day old Fawn.  Note how the Fawn is 'in
                                    step' with the doe!

My first ship: USS Agerholm (DD 826).  I reported aboard as
a PCSN and departed the ship in Yokosuka, Japan to the
USS Isle Royale (AD 29) 18 months later.  Made PC3 onboard
                                         the Agerholm.

USS Isle Royale (AD-29)  Homeport:  Long Beach, CA
Served in Isle Royale: 1966-67  most of that time was
in WESTPAC.  A very interesting tour of duty.

USS Barbey (FF 1088), firing a Harpoon Missile from her
ASROC launcher.  COMDESRON 5 Staff was embarked in
Barbey when I first reported to the squadron.  Six days
after I reported aboard we deployed to WESTPAC, made
3 WESTPAC's while assigned to Staff duty.

USS Reasoner (FF 1063), 1978 in WESTPAC.   Our Staff was
embarked in Reasoner a number of times  during my 3 year assignment.

USS Ashtabula (AO 51)  While assigned in DESRON 5 Staff,
I rode the Ashtabula from Singapore to Fremantle.   We  were often
referred to as 'Ship Riders'.   I'm sure we were called other names too.

USS Constellation (CV 64)  entering Cook Inlet, Alaska

Other Comments:
Life continues to be good here in Southern Oregon.
Living in the country really agrees with me.  We are
within 3 Dairy Farms, a Goat Farm, and two Horse
Properties.  Also a lot of crops are grown within
walking distance.  At one time, we had five Dairy
Farms within walking distance.  They are still there,
but NOT walking distance for me anymore!!!
