COMBAT HISTORY: GUADALCANAL August was my Father-in-law and a WWII Unsung Hero during the Guadalcanal Campaign. He was with an Advanced Aviation Base Navy Support Unit attached to the First Marine Division. August was in charge of "all" Aviation Gas storage for the Marine, Navy and Army aircraft known as the Cactus Air Force located at Henderson Field. Read More in Combat History.
