 Additional Information
What are you doing now:

Now Retired.

I was a Senior Programmer Analyst, Business Systems Analyst and Manager over my 36 years in the Financial, Stock Market and Corporate worlds. Before my software career while in college, Grad school and few years after, I was a Blood Bank Technician doing type & cross matches and the weekend supervisor. Following that I was also a supervisor in a research lab for automating the Blood Bank process.  From there I moved into the medical machine sales area at the same company.

My hobby is furniture refinishing: I like to pick-up old pieces being thrown out, take them apart, sand, stain and finish with a shiny coat of what's right for the piece. Then I give it away or use it. My sons/grandkids have been the recipient of many pieces.

Just updated the Lyme Disease site for 2020.

Being the Lead VPA, Ship Historian and Chief Admin for  NTWS keeps me busy.  If you would like to leave a question or request for help, leave a Message on the right bottom side of this page.

Read my comments under each duty station and get a 'wider' view of my naval time. wink

Other Comments:

Instead of doing a blog I decided that working as a VPA on this site works best for me.  Sort of like a Consultant - can set my own hours/days and I get a lot of satisfaction helping others on here complete their profiles.

For our WWII and Korean Vets please read the Blog section of my profile.

 Reflections on Service
Please describe who or what influenced your decision to join the Navy.
Whether you were in the service for several years or as a career, please describe the direction or path you took. What was your reason for leaving?
Of all your duty stations or assignments, which one do you have fondest memories of and why? Which was your least favorite?
From your entire military service, describe any memories you still reflect back on to this day.
What professional achievements are you most proud of from your military career?
Of all the medals, awards, formal presentations and qualification badges you received, or other memorabilia, which one is the most meaningful to you and why?
Which individual(s) from your time in the military stand out as having the most positive impact on you and why?
List the names of old friends you served with, at which locations, and recount what you remember most about them. Indicate those you are already in touch with and those you would like to make contact with.
Can you recount a particular incident from your service, which may or may not have been funny at the time, but still makes you laugh?
What profession did you follow after your military service and what are you doing now? If you are currently serving, what is your present occupational specialty?
What military associations are you a member of, if any? What specific benefits do you derive from your memberships?
In what ways has serving in the military influenced the way you have approached your life and your career? What do you miss most about your time in the service?
Based on your own experiences, what advice would you give to those who have recently joined the Navy?
In what ways has TogetherWeServed.com helped you remember your military service and the friends you served with.
