Petty Officer Second Class Ronnie Gilman Alcock was serving with Detachment Bravo, Mobile Support Team 2, Task Force 116, U.S. Naval Forces Vietnam, in Kien Giang Province, South Vietnam.

On that day, EN2 Alcock was killed in action when he sustained wounds from artillery, rocket or mortar fire. His body was recovered.
