Thank you Mate
Remembrance posted by Donald Lytle

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you John Clannahan Usilton, for your courageous and valiant service, years of faithfully contributing, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!

Again, thank you Mate, for a job well done!

FAIR WINDS, AND ETERNAL PEACE MY FRIEND

Thirsted for more action
Remembrance posted by Robert Greer

John C. Usilton
Pratt Street, Frankford

The 28-year-old Woodrow Wilson Junior High School graduate had been in the Army for two years and the Navy Reserves for one, but thirsted for more action. He joined the Navy in June 1968 and asked to be assigned to a Seabee outfit, knowing he would be sent to Vietnam, his wife said. The utilitiesman second class was assigned to Naval Support Activity in Da Nang, Quang Nam Province, where he died on July 12, 1969. Survivors included his wife, son, daughter, parents, a brother and two sisters.
