Effective 3 August, 2007 I retired from the state of FL as a DVOP (Disabled Vet outreach Program Vet rep), currently working 7 days a week to remain fully retired in our home in Florida.

As Commanding Officer, NAVCOMMSTA Puerto Rico, provided around the clock communications support to all base and afloat ships in Puerto Rico AOR throughout the 145 mph hurricane winds of "Hugo" on 18 Sept 1988. Navcommsta ran their generators 24 hours/day-port and starboard, for 50 days, following Hugo! All Personnel weathered the storm, safely! Commsta also won the Golden Anchor, + Base intramural Championships @ BOTH Sabena Seca and Roosevelt Roads. Commsta also was awarded the secretary of the USN, Conservation Award-with a 21.74% energy reduction.
