During his command tour at VP-6, the squadron was the first squadron to deploy with the P-3B TAC/NAV MOD "Super Bee" aircraft.
RDML Maness is interred at the Arlington National Cometary.
The RDML Anthony R. Maness Tactical Support Center, at Kaneohe MCBH, Hawaii is named in his honor.
