Additional Information
What are you doing now:
After retiring from Pratt & Whitney in 2005, we traveled the East Coast in our
RV from Key West, FL to Bangor, ME. After being chased from Maine by cold
weather in October, we headed south to Jacksonville, FL (Mayport), then west
to San Antonio, TX for Christmas. We have been wintering in southern Texas
ever since, and traveling the USA in our RV during the summer months. Bought
a house in Mission, TX in late 2007, changing our status from "full-time" to
"half-time" RVers. Our trip in 2008 took us as far as Whidbey Island, WA where
I visited two of my old squadrons, VQ-1 and VQ-2, as well as some old Navy
friends. That was the highlight of the year! Other trips have taken us all over
America, The Beautiful. Until we began this lifestyle, I had actually visited more
countries in the world than I had visited states in our own country. Retirement
is still GREAT!
Other Comments:
Retired from USN in 1982. Earned my BS in System Science, Scientific Option (combination of EE and Computer Science) in 1983 and started my second career at Pratt & Whitney. Spent most of my time designing, developing and maintaining data-acquisition software systems in support of rocket testing. Worked on the RL-10 family of rockets and Space Shuttle Main Engine turbopumps. Great career. Retired in 2005, sold our home in Hobe Sound, FL and hit the road in our RV. Plan to continue traveling as long as our health allows.
