Dr. Pollard obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA in 1935, and his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1939 from the University of Virginia at Charlottesville, VA. Upon his retirement from the Navy, Dr. Pollard became Director of Biological & Medical Sciences Division of the Office of Naval Research. He was recipient of the Theodore C. Lyster Award of the Aerospace Medical Association for outstanding accomplishment in the field of aerospace medicine.
