Personal Memories

Best Friends
Ken Martin, Larry Paryz, Mike Sobyra, Bob Centner, Dick Kroepel

Other Memories
NROTC cruises, campus bowling alley, the Bog, ricobene's pizza, Comiskey Park and Wrigley Field, Northwestern Univ Sorority Quad, Sonny Weissman, IIT's TechHawk

Best Friends
Mike Sobyra, Larry Paryz, Kenny Martin & Bob Centner

Best Moment
Always enjoyed playing flag football with the guys ... that was a nice routine. Best moment has to be commissioning as an Ensign in private ceremony in skipper's office (I was commisioned in August after my last midn cruise - see worst moment below) and having my Dad (a DKC) render my first salute ... and awarding me a silver dollar to commemorate that moment

Worst Moment
Sweating the possibility of probation & suspension due to poor academics in IIT coursework Earned probation ltrs every semester starting soph yr. Missed Junior Year cruise when I had to attend summer school and earn at least a 3.0 GPA to maintain NROTC scholarship and status. I did.

Instructors
Not good at names .... Robert Knepper (LCDR or LT??) stands out as being super, there was another, but his name escapes me. Capt Bernie McGlaughlin (sp?) was a grand skipper - he gave me the chance to succeed even when I seemed to do everything possible academically to insure failure.

Other Memories
Getting ready (spit shining shoes, etc.) for weekly inspections on Thursday drill days and sophomore cruise to Little Creek and then Corpus Christi were awesome experiences with my Buds .... but I liked freshman and senior cruises as well ... but those were not shared with my buds - we were all on diff ships
