Last Known Activity:
USS Bonefish was on a war patrol in the Sea of Japan with two other submarines. Her last communication was during a rendezvous on June 18th. Captured Japanese records indicate that a Japanese vessel was sunk on June 19th and that during an intense counterattack a submarine was sunk with all hands. It is presumed that this was the Bonefish. Electrician's Mate First Class was officially declared dead 15 July 1946.

Description (Algeria-French Morocco Campaign 8-11 November 1942) Three days after their victory at El Alamein the Allies opened a new front with an assault on Algeria and French Morocco. Twelfth Air Force, with some units based on Gibraltar, some aboard the invasion fleet, and some bearing paratroops from England, entered combat at this time. The campaign was brkf, for the French in Algeria and French Morocco offered little resistance to the invaders.)
