Actually, Best Mentors:
Chief Warrant Officers Loren Dixon, Jim Hammontree, Chuck Arnold, and Vince O'Hara. I learned more from these guys on my first ship than I could possibly recount, and any limited success I had was largely due to their "guidance" and "counseling"!

Worst Moment
Preble (DLG-15) had the distinction of being hit by North Vietnamese shore batteries twice while on the gunline in December 1972.
