After 25 years combined active duty and contractor support, I had enough of 'gubmut work'. It was time for something new and in the commercial sector. No regrets over the work I did while in Defense. It was good stuff, for the right people. But, contractor companies didn't hold that view and being a contractor had become far too similar to being a government employee in that regard.
1993-1993, OS-0000, Bureau of Naval Personnel (BUPERS)
Best Friends An OS2 from North Carolina whose name escapes me, and OSC Petit.
Best Moment Being brought up there to work at BUPERS. OSC Petit did this when the Sreveport didn't give me his message wanting to know my intentions for shore duty.
Worst Moment Seeing a guy get hit and killed by a car on I-95 one morning on the way to work.
Other Memories Lots of good laughs there in the OS Detailor cubicle.. some of the 'priceless' answers then OSCS Oldenkamp gave on the phone.
