Eternal Father, bless Thy Chiefs
Who guide and lead with firm beliefs
In Courage, Commitment and Honor bright.
Strengthen with Thy holy might
Those who wear the anchors of the CPO.
O, guard them, Lord, where're they go."
Chief Petty Officer Erik E. Lindebak of Great Lakes, IL
"It is also not irrational for Congress to decide that, even though it will not subsidize substantial lobbying by charities generally, it will subsidize lobbying by veterans' organizations. Veterans have "been obliged to drop their own affairs and take up the burdens of the nation," ?, "subjecting themselves to the mental and physical hazards as well as the economic and family detriments which are peculiar to military service and which do not exist in normal civil life." ?. Our country has a long standing policy of compensating veterans for their past contributions by providing them with numerous advantages. This policy has "always been deemed to be legitimate." ?U.S. Supreme Court Regan v. Taxation with Representation, 461 U.S. 540 (1983)

Best Moment I had checked in and then becasue of the lead time to form a new class, was told I could go on leave; the first time since I left for boot camp. So there I'm on leave and my old man asks me if I'm not late getting back and I tell him, "No I'm fine." I arrive back at ET "A" and no sooner had I unpacked when I hear that I have to report to the Division Chief. I dunno why. I get there and find out that the Division Chief is actually a Marine Gunnery Sargeant; AH SHIT!!! lol and I'm UA for 20 hours.
Chain of Command There was a Gunnery Sargeant in charge of us at ET "A" School, first Marine that I knew didn't have a clue about Sailors, but in retorspect did he or didn't I? lol
