Our Company Commander's name was Hemmer.

Best Moment
Went to sea on USS Blue, a DD out of Long Beach. Only spent a day at sea. Some got seasick, including our leader, PO Hemmer.

   

Worst Moment
Mess cooking under a Marine corporal.
Duck-walking up and down the street for noise after lights out.

Chain of Command
I was a member of the Naval Air Reserve. Following a 90-day accelerated training program (AR to AN), I was assigned to VF-782(J) as an Aviation Electronics Technician striker. I remained a weekend warrior until I went to OCS in Newport, RI, following my graduation from college in 1960.
