I retired from OHSU in April 2015. Was thinking about doing traveling work but at age 65, I just did not have it in me to do that. Will be working part time but not at OHSU due to it receiving retirement pay from there. Also going to play more golf as there are two golf courses with a half mile from us.
Volunteer at Portland, Oregon USO three times a week to keep busy and to get out of the house. Have also been volunteering with Homes for Our Troops and Wounded Warriors projects in the Portland area.
Other Comments:
Like sleeping in, but I am working in our yard everyday and doing things like going to nurseries, and just enjoying not working full time.
Best Friends HM1 Blain Jex. After I was released from active(the 1st time) in 1978, I worked with Blaine for 6 years in my hometown as an x-ray tech.

Best Moment Coming into the Navy after 12 months of repeated physicals due to a heart murmur. Kept failing the physicals and in Dec 1969, I finally passed it and the next week I received a draft notice and joined the Navy Reserve that night(Jan 5,1970).
Did several weekend drills on USS Uhlmann, a WWII Destroyer(homeported at NRC Tacoma) while in the reserves. Several of us from my reserve center were on it for the short stint onboard Uhlmann.
Chain of Command Blaine Jex was the Reserve HM1 for the NRC in Aberdeen. Many years later we worked together as x-ray techs at our community hospital.
Other Memories Received my active duty orders the night I joined. BPR squadron, South Vietnam but I went from a Fireman recruit to a Hospitalman recruit
