Other Memories Combat ops from USS Lexington (CV-16) with VF-19 flying F6F in action off Philippines, Formosa; shot down 2 Sallies near Subic Bay, 1/2 Zeke and 1/2 Tony over Taiwan; attacked Japanese fleet in action off Cape Engano.
After combat tour, VF-19 reformed at Santa Rosa and requipped with F8F Bearcat. Deployed Aug45; at NAAS Kahului when war ended. Ended up doing a WESTPAC in 1946.
