Other Memories I was never officially assigned to the USS Moale DD-693 but I did spend a few days and nights at sea on her. In 1964 our skipper on the Constitution made arrangements with the Moale?s skipper to take on some young sailors for a weekend of training. Having never gone to sea I jumped at this opportunity and I have to say that the experience was well worth it. The crew of the Moale treated was well and I enjoyed my stay. My mother sent some letters to us the other day that she had keep for years that I had written back in 64 and in one of them I'm telling them of going to sea on the USS Wasp. We made a four day trip down to New York. Untill this yrear I could never remember the name of that ship.
