Best Friends All the Chiefs (too many to list...thanks shipmates), LT Lindley (shipmate from Japan, former Chief who quit the mess...but he's still a hell of a shipmate & friend), Jason, and a those I had the privilege to work with.
Best Moment Being at sea
Worst Moment Decomm'ing the ship. Later on in life finding out a hell of a shipmate passing away during a routine retirment proceedure. Rest in peace Mark...
Chain of Command CO CAPT Haley, passionate to the ship and crew CO CAPT Shelanski, cool & grace under presure XO LCDR Harvey straight up, straight fwd, drives the ship as good as his Punto (but looks a lot cooler on the bridge) XO CDR Hirko, a special XO CMC Danny Hatch, don't piss'em off, lord knows I tried.
Other Memories MALTA dry dock.... liberty ports, traveling Europe with my family when in port during limitied times...we actually steamed a lot contrary to Flagship history. IRELAND! Can you say PARTY...or was it more like Paaqarrrrrcctyy? Imagine the entire Mess at the oldest Pub taking a moment to crank out Anchors away. Was told by locals they could hear us blocks and blocks away and it sounded great :) Biking with friends in Italy, Malta, Spain, Ireland...somehow Jason managed to always find the climbs.
