Bobby was a bartender at "Winks" in Redwood City, California, He died in the bay area, was cremated and sent home to his sister to be buried at Hartland Cemetery in the Township of Hartland MI.
On his Marker they made the mistake of putting him as an EM2 instead of an EW2. If Robert was here, I'm sure he would not stand for this, I'm trying to have this corected.
I remember the night (kinda) after our friendship soured that Robert was entertaining a "Guest" in his little Apartment and I showed up drunk out of my mind. I snuck into his Apt. and comenced to try and kick the Bedroom door down, scaring the sh-t out of his "guest" and forcing him to scurry out the Bathroom window. It was so funny tha Robert and I sat there laughing our asses off, wondering what happend to that CRAZY friendship we had.................................................................................once.
What a clown.
He was my close friend, I think of him a great deal now and again, allways with a smirk or a smile on my face, like the one he use to wear when thinking of somthing devious or devilish or looking across the bar at somthing atractive. I would turn to him, smack him on the arm and say, "what the f-ck are you looking at?...................................
I allways got the same response..............,
Nut'n.
He sure could drink that beer! (and we drank allot of beer @ Peacock Alley, Flicks and West Coast Production Company during the 1985-1990 time period, in Hillcrest, San Diego, CA.)
I did not know much about Bobbies military history, Some of the dates and ribbons/medals may be out of date or incorect. I met him on the Albert David the day I checked onboard and we were "good Friends" for 2 years from the first day we "hooked up". Feel free to contact me if you like , usmcretired@cox.net If you can e-mail me his military info with dates and such, I would be more than glad to get it right for you.
My name is Miguel Legaspi I would like to hear from you.
Other Comments:
he is missed a great deal by me, I only wish we were both sober enough at the time to let each other know how much we valued each others friendship.
