Deployed on board Inchon with HMM 261 Mediterranean Cruise 1975

Best Moment
Ate Thanksgiving dinner witrh Faye Dunaway and Ben Gazara on the mess deck in Barcelona,(along with 1000 other guys) Faye Dunaway signed my Liberty Card though.
   

Worst Moment
When the Belknap collided with the USS Kennedy.
When we collided with the USNS Caloosahatchee
We also had a terrible storm within 24 hrs of Morehead City, NC to offload. Caused a lot of damage and helicopters had to be craned off the ship. Storm delayed our entry into port by 2 days. Bridge on USS Mt Whitney was blown in injuring AMPHIB Task Force command personnel.

Other Memories
Spent 2 months off Port Said Egypt flying SAR while HM 12 swept mines. Flew 10-12 hours/day for 2 months. Oscar was saved many times.
