Memories For This Unit

Other Memories
Spent almost six months studying Japanese with a group of 20 students at the Dept of State Foreign Service Institute (FSI).  My wife was participating in the all-day language training but was fast becoming very pregnant with our first son, Fredrick.  We received permission for her to take 4 hours/day training one-on-one with a private company, Diplomatic Language Service, so she could be finished by noon.  I requested, and received permission, to join her.  She soon had to quit leaving me one-on-one with an instructor for about a year!  No place to hide but it was really nice being finished up by noon.  I'd go work out at lunch then study at the library in Vienna until dinner.
