Memories For This Unit

Best Friends
Roy Cupper HM striker on board the ship.
I ran into Roy again at Station Hospital at Danang RVN. He was an HMC working in the supply Dept. Dick STONER HM3 from Pa.

Worst Moment
Rode out two typhoons in the Pacific. The ship bounced around like a cork.

Other Memories
A YOUNG MARINE IN THE DETACHMENT ABOARD SHIP BY THE NAME OF JOHN JOHNSON. I WON ALL HIS SEABAG OF UNIFORMS PLAYING CHECKERS. I TOLD HIM I WOULD RENT IT OUT TO HIM IF HE NEEDED ANYTHING FOR INSPECTION.
