I retired from the Champaign County Sheriff's Office, and resigned my commission as a Special Deputy. Retired Aug. 2, 2008 Turned 75 years old.

Worst Moment Rode out two typhoons in the Pacific. The ship bounced around like a cork.
Other Memories A YOUNG MARINE IN THE DETACHMENT ABOARD SHIP BY THE NAME OF JOHN JOHNSON. I WON ALL HIS SEABAG OF UNIFORMS PLAYING CHECKERS. I TOLD HIM I WOULD RENT IT OUT TO HIM IF HE NEEDED ANYTHING FOR INSPECTION.
