pulling back in from the Med..........later,while in the yards, getting to see the Wisconsin towed up river to Nauticus.
   

Worst Moment
I lose count.......most of them occurred during our 13 month ROH at Metro Machine shipyards. The worst was not getting home on emergency leave fast enough before my Grandfather died.

Other Memories
We were test firing air slugs on the starboard side Torpedo tubes pierside while coming out of layup at Metro Machine. I was topside with the phones and had the area safe......then I hear the 3 compressed air pops and see all 3 tube covers fly across the pier. One hit the USS Oak Hill, another hit the PWC crane. A pissed off contractor took the covers and the CO himself had to go retrieve them. Not a good day that one.
