 Additional Information
Last Known Activity:

The USS Sculpin (SS-191) was on her ninth war patrol in the Turk Island Area on November 19, 1943 when she was attacked by the enemy. Damage from depth-charges forced her to surface. Although many of the crew were taken prisoner by the Japanese, CMoMM Gabrunas was manning the hydraulic manifold when Sculpin was scuttled and went down with the vessel. He was listed as missing in action and later declared dead.
