 Additional Information
Last Known Activity:

The USS Lagarto (SS-371) was on a War Patrol and was announced as "overdue from patrol and presumed lost" on 10 August 1945. A post war examination of Japanese records suggest that the Lagarto was probably sunk by a Japanese mine layer the Hatsutaka, on 3 May 1945. Radioman First Class Carleton was listed as missing in action and later declared dead 25 May 1946.
