Working at a printed plastics company full time and writing in my free time. I write both Christian fiction and non-fiction and also have a few non-Christian books. My books are available on Amazon. I'm currently an associate member of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers.
Instead of spending a lot of time on social media, I enjoy coming here to TWS. I think it's interesting researching our fallen fellow shipmates and creating memorial profiles for them. I'm also a member of the TWS Memorial Team and spend time researching and updating memorial profiles created by other members which may be missing information. If you need help creating a profile, editing your own, or need tips or help researching a veteran, please feel free to contact me.

Best Moment There were many good times on 3-West because there are always good things happening on a maternity ward. However, the best moment was when I passed the testing for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and received my certification. I also had our Commander tell me she thought I'd be a great nurse and should try to get into the Navy Academy to train as an officer and take the nursing classes so that could happen. Unfortunately, I didn't score high enough on the tests to pursue that goal. Oh well, I liked being a plain old corpsman anyway.
Worst Moment Any time I had to deal with patients or families of patients who thought they knew more about my job than I did and tried to tell me how to do my job.
Other Memories I worked on 3-West (the maternity ward) and stood duty on various wards including at the nursery, the neurological unit, and the cardiac care ward. All of the corpsman and nurses called each other by our first names when we weren't around patients, doctors, etc. Unfortunately, our charge nurse never got my name right and called me Sherry, Shelly, Celia, and a few others. I knew who she was talking to, but it confused my other coworkers so I asked everyone to use my middle name because Rae seemed to be easier for the charge nurse to remember ... and get right.
