Working at a printed plastics company full time and writing in my free time. I write both Christian fiction and non-fiction and also have a few non-Christian books. My books are available on Amazon. I'm currently an associate member of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers.
Instead of spending a lot of time on social media, I enjoy coming here to TWS. I think it's interesting researching our fallen fellow shipmates and creating memorial profiles for them. I'm also a member of the TWS Memorial Team and spend time researching and updating memorial profiles created by other members which may be missing information. Best Friends HM3 Paul McFadden, HN Vickie Meade, HN John Ritchie, HN Karla Kelly, and CWO Bruce Ferguson. If you were a shipmate of mine at SPBMC and you're not listed, don't feel left out. I was friends with most of you and just can't remember all the names.
Best Moment Any time I was involved in emergency medicine including working in the Urgent Care Clinic and while a member of one of the ambulance crews. The other great time I had was when I stood duty providing medical coverage at the weapons range with the Marines. Being in emergency medicine could be stressful, but at the end of the day I always felt like I accomplished something important.
Worst Moment I admit, I was involved in a minor fender bender while driving an ambulance (no patient onboard) and that was embarrassing. I also hated almost any time I had to deal with patients who were intoxicated. The happy drunks weren't too bad, but most of them were rude, obnoxious, and/or wanted to fight with everyone including the corpsmen and doctors who were trying to take care of them.
Other Memories I began my time at SPBMC working in Military Sick Call, then was transferred to the Urgent Care Clinic. I also attended Fleet Hospital training at Camp Pendleton, California (Class 87-15) in 1987. When I had weekends off, I enjoyed visiting places lieke museums, Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens. I also spent a lot of time in Shenandoah National Park.
