Keel laid 31 Jan 1944, launched 17 Apr 1944. Renamed Bismarck Sea* 16 May 1944. Commissioned 20 May 1944. Fate: Sunk by kamikazes off Iwo Jima, 21 Feb 1945. 318 of her crew were lost with the ship and remain on duty.
