Omer Louis “Lou” Johnson, age 85 Captain , Supply Corps, USN (Ret.) On Sunday, May 10, 2015, Omer L. Johnson of Olney, MD. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann Johnson. Survivors include his daughter Laura Ann (Gerald) Scheid and Susan Lynn Johnson, both of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Justin and Rachel Scheid and Joseph Rhyss Johnson; four sisters and three brothers. Captain Johnson enlisted in the Navy in 1947 as a high school dropout and retired in 1989 after 42 years of service. Following commissioning as an Ensign in 1958 he served in various assignments afloat, ashore and abroad in the areas of logistics planning. He attended the Naval Postgraduate School and the Naval War College. Decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal the latter being awarded for his efforts in continuing continued fuel support of the fleet during the 1973-1974 embargo while serving as fuels officer on the staff of the Pacific Fleet Commander. He later served as Commander, Defense Fuel Region Europe and was serving as Commander of the Pacific Fuel Region at the time of his retirement.

Omer Johnson served in the Navy from 7 June 1947 until Jouly 1985.
