Aram (Bob) Ladislaw Ehramjian

Bob Ehramjian was a graduate of the RCA Institute and joined the military in 1940 where he became a radio officer for the Navy. At the outset of the war, his ship sailed to Casablanca to defend the harbor from German submarines. In 1944, he was aboard the Wasatch as it sailed for the Pacific and became the flagship of six invasions, including the battle in Leyte Gulf, the largest naval battle of the war.

November 1940 – September 1941, RT on board the USS Yorktown. In North Africa, 1943, Bob was a 1st Class Radioman and made Chief and then Warrant Officer. In 1944, at the age of 24, he became Chief Warrant Officer. 

Served aboard the Wasatch AGC-9 from its commissioning May 1944 in Norfolk until it arrived back in San Diego on Nov 29, 1945. Chief Warrant Officer, Radio / Communications.

U.S.S. Wasatch received five battle stars for her World War II service.

 
After V-J Day, Wasatch took part in the occupation of Wakayama and Nagoya, Japan, and Taku, China, into the fall of 1945. Underway from Taku on 7 November 1945, the ship sailed for the United States, via Pearl Harbor, and arrived at San Francisco on 10 December 1945.  Aram (Bob) Ladislaw Ehramjian was discharged on or by 20 December 1945. He listed himself as Chief Warrant Officer, CT division, on the Crews List for the U.S.S. Wasatch.
