William Veazie Pratt was an admiral in the United States Navy. He served as the President of the Naval War College from 1925 to 1927, and as the 5th Chief of Naval Operations from 1930 to 1933.

USS William V. Pratt (DLG-13, later DDG-44)  was a Farragut-class destroyer commissioned in 1961 as DLG-13 and reclassified as a guided missile destroyer, designation DDG-44, in 1975.

Stricken July 13, 1948. Fate: Target During Atomic Bomb Tests, Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands. Sunk, 40 miles off Oahu, July 8, 1948, by Naval Gunfire and Aircraft.
