Ramon Jarel Bradshaw, Sr. was the son of Elizabeth Bradshaw. He had a son and planned on getting married. He was a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He graduated from King High School in June 1988, where he was a track star. He had a choice between a college scholarship in track or serving his country. He enlisted in the navy in July 1988. He was killed in the explosion of gun turret #2 on the USS Iowa, during training maneuvers in the Atlantic Ocean off of Puerto Rico. He was buried with full military honors.

Reinstated on the Naval Vessels Register and returned to reserve status 4 January 1999. Fate: Preserved as Memorial at 250 S Harbor Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90731
