James Lee Hall was born September 26, 1922, to Frank and Lucy Hall in Pixely, Calif. He passed away, at home, Nov. 7, 2012, after a brief illness. He was 90.


A resident of Ventura County for 64 years, James was a retired plumber, a member of the Ojai Lions Club and a charter member of the Submarine Veterans.


James was preceded in death by his wife Nadine and now leaves behind his daughters, Christine Carmody and Nancy Clark; sons, Frank and James Hall; sister, Wilma Henley; brother, Jerry Hall; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends.


A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday Nov. 17, 2012, in the Chapel at Charles Carroll Funeral Home; 15 Teloma Dr. Ventura, CA 93003.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Qualified in submarines on the USS Tautog (SS-199) in 1944 and was a SM2(SS) when he left the Navy.

Other Memories
S-33 arrived at San Diego at the end of August 1943, underwent overhaul, and, then, commenced operations with the West Coast Sound School which were continued until 13 August 1945. Two days later, hostilities ended in the Pacific, and S-33 was ordered to San Francisco for inactivation.
