The Naval Criminal Investigative Service Security Training, Assessment and Assistance Teams provide specialized and advanced antiterrorism, force protection, law enforcement and security training for naval personnel engaged in security duties, ashore and afloat. This course provides instruction in all subject matter areas covered by the OPNA VINST 5530.14 (series), Navy Physical Security Manual. The target audience includes security department management, staff and supervisory personnel at afloat and ashore commands. The course is taught by a combination of lecture and group exercises and covers pertinent topics for managers or supervisors of a U.S. Navy security department. (5 Days)
This course provides instruction in all subject matter areas covered by the SECNA VINST 5510.30A and SECNA VINST 5510.36, Department of the Navy Information and Personnel Security Program Regulation. It is intended for security managers at afloat and ashore commands. Provision is also made to accommodate security assistants. The course is taught by a combination of lecture and group exercises culminating in the formulation of a Command Security Action Plan for each student. Some of the topics covered include classification management, marking of classified material, accounting and control, destruction, storage, transmission and hand carrying, clearance and access. FIRST RESPONDER COURSE (FRC) (CIN: S-830-0026)
The First Responder Course is designed to provide effective tactics, techniques and procedures for patrol officers responding to various law enforcement and crisis situations on naval installations. Some major topics include: use of force, building searches, domestic violence, apprehension, serious incident response and crimes in progress. (5 Days)
ANTITERRORISM ENHANCEMENT TRAINING FOR FLAG OFFICERS (AEFO) (CIN: S-lA-0003)
Provides training in terrorism awareness, techniques for POV inspection, IED Identification, evasive driving techniques, surveillance detection techniques and route analysis. Instruction is intended for flag officers, their spouses and drivers. (3 Days)
PRECISION AND PROTECTIVE DRIVING (CIN: S-830-0036)
Provides training for special agents and military protective service personnel in the use of approved and standardized tactics, techniques, and procedures to be able to execute appropriate driving maneuvers while providing personal protection for designated individuals. (3 Days)
SURVEILLANCE DETECTION/COUNTERSURVEILLANCE TRAINING (CIN: S-8300046)
A course designed to enable special agents and military security personnel to be able to conduct detailed analyses which identify vulnerabilities of principals, locations and facilities. It also provides students with the ability to set up surveillance detection teams and monitor areas for hostile surveillance. Combines lecture and practical exercises in team building and surveillance detection training. (5 Days)
SURVEILLANCE DETECTION BRIEFING
Lecture in surveillance detection techniques for personnel assigned to fixed and roving posts. Teaches personnel to detect suspicious activity in order to prevent or reduce the impact of terrorist or criminal activity against naval personnel or property. Appropriate for all-hands. (1 Hour)
INFORMATION/PERSONNEL SECURITY PROGRAM BRIEFING
This briefing is for all levels of personnel, covering aspects of the Information Personnel Security Program. It is intended for command General Military Training situations. Subjects include: history background, program requirements, classification/marking, accounting/control, destruction, transmission, safeguarding/storage, visits & meetings, AIS security, clearance/access, violations/recent espionage cases. (1 Hour)
NOTE: Commands may use this training in conjunction with a command security stand down or annual refresher training.
INFORMATION/PERSONNEL SECURITY PROGRAM OVERVIEW
This module covers all the aspects of the information Personnel Program as prescribed by SECNA VINST 5510.30A, SECNA VINST 5510.36 and other security instructions. It provides in-depth information about the Information/Personnel Security program in the following areas: security history background, program requirements, classification/marking, accounting & control, destruction, transmission, safeguarding/storage, visits & meetings, AIS security, personnel security, violations including recent espionage cases (3 Hours)
NOTE: At the completion of this module the command member will be able to function as a departmental security representative or in a similar position.
Certifies experienced security personnel to become basic instructors in the use of selected nonlethal weapons. (5 Days)
HIGH RISK OPERATIONS TRAINING PROGRAM (HROTP 401)
This course prepares NCIS Special Agents for assignment to Protective Operations in hostile overseas environments. It includes evasive driving, advanced firearms skills, motorcade procedures, protective operations formations, route analysis, and surveillance detection. This course is taught in cooperation with the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and NCIS Code 30. (3 Weeks)
STAAT VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT TRAINING
This course prepares students to conduct CNO Integrated Vulnerability Assessments (CNOIV As), Port Integrated Vulnerability Assessments (PIV As) and Personal Vulnerability Assessments (PV As).
