Obituary
Henry Boswell Jr. GREENSBORO - Henry Boswell Jr., Col. U.S. Army retired, passed away in Greensboro, N.C. on Wednesday, June 2, at the age of 91. Henry was born in Sanatorium, Miss., to Dr. Henry Boswell, founder of the Mississippi State Tuberculosis Sanatorium, and Iola Saunders Boswell. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1941 and served in the China Burma India theater of World War II throughout the war. Upon his return, he obtained his MBA from Harvard and continued to serve in the Army until his retirement at Fort Lee, Va. Upon his retirement in 1970, he managed a marina in Hatteras, N.C., before becoming the director of the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce. After fully retiring, he settled in Grand Junction, Colo., before moving to Greensboro in 2001.

He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Catharine Eastburn Boswell; two sons, **************Lt. Cmdr. Henry Boswell III ************* and Dr. John E. Boswell; and two sisters, Georgia Neal Tyson and Helen Dear, both of Jackson.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have spoken with two of Pete's Aunt's and his sister and obtained most of this information.
Henry's Grandfather gave him the Nickname "Pistol" when Henry was in high school.
"Pistol" retired as LCDR from the Navy and became a Forester because of his love for the great outdoors.
Other Comments:
Henry was cremated and ashes remain with family member.
Henry Boswell III had requested appointment to West Point, 1960.
Henry "Pistol" is mentioned numerous times beginning on page 62, in the book titled "U.S. Navy Seawolves - The Elite HAL-3 Helicopter Squadron in Vietnam" written by Seawolf Daniel E. Kelly.
