I retired in 1974 and worked for the Small Business Adminstration as their Liqudation Loan Officer and retired after 20 years. Started my opened my own business for a couple  years. Gave that up. Belong to a civic organization Optimist International and before I left it I was a Governor of South Central District.
At the present time I am semi-retired awaiting on approval from VA for my disabilities. I have been already been declared 30% disabled in my right arm with parkinson disease.

WHEN WE HAD OUR FRINDLY BATTLES WITH THOSE DAM TEXANS. OUR COMPANY485 WAS MADE UP OF 50% FROM IOWA AND 50% FROM TEXAS AND BOY DID WE BATTLE.BUT AT THE END SWE WERE THE TOP COMPANY GRADUATING THAT SUMMER. I ALSO CAME FRIENDS WITH MY COMPANY COMMANDER.

   

Worst Moment
THOUGHT I WAS GOING STAY IN SAN DIEGO AND INSTEAD WE WAS SENT TO CAMP ELLIOT OUT BY MIRMAR AIR STATION IN THE DESERT SNAKES AND ALL. WE WAS GIVEN A BACK PACK, M1, WEB BELT WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS AND INFORMED MY COMPANY CHIEF THAT I JOINED THE NAVY AND NOT THE MARINE CORPS AND GUESS WHAT I CAUGHT SOME EXTRA DUTY
