Belong to a civic organization Optimist International and before I left it I was a Governor of South Central District.
At the present time I am semi-retired awaiting on approval from VA for my disabilities. I have been already been declared 30% disabled in my right arm with parkinson disease.
Best Friends YN2 Hephern, he was going on his second tour over their and knew the R&R program inside and out.
Best Moment My best moment when my men was alble to reach our goal of sending 10,000 sailors on R& R this includes in country R&R sites also. Bought each one a case of beer. I had 4 personel and they worked their rear end off by working 10-12 hours a day seven days a week and they work very well while I was visiting detachments informing everyone about the R&R program
Worst Moment My worst moment when I had to recommend that PO2 Hephern be sent back to the states because he crack in a bunker one night and would not stop, I had to restrain physcial unitl I got him to the hospital. The last time I hear about him he tried to commit suicide twice at Naval Hospital. He should not have been allowed to stay extra year,.
