WILLIAMSBURG — Vice Admiral Robert Edward Adamson Jr., USN Retired, died July 30, 2004, in Williamsburg, Va. "Rojo" was 83.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn "Lyn" Adamson; two daughters, Gail A. Gordon and her husband, Royal P. Gordon III, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Valerie A. Logwinuk and her husband, Greg Logwinuk, of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Lynn Adamson of Coronado, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, LTjg R.P. Gordon IV, Katherine Gordon, Robert Gordon, Alexandra Adamson, Gregory Logwinuk, Marshall Logwinuk, and Christina Logwinuk.
He was preceded in rest by his son, CDR Robert E. Adamson III.
