ADMIRAL PYE was acting CINCPACFLT from the time Admiral Kimmel was relieved until Admiral Nimitz took over on 31 DEC 1941

His son was Pye, John Briscoe, LCDR who was the Executive Officer of the USS Swordfish (SS-193) sunk.
