Balao Class Submarine: Laid down, 6 July 1944, at Electric Boat Co., Groton, CT.; Launched, 19 February 1946; Commissioned USS Halfbeak (SS-352), 22 July 1946; Decommissioned and simultaneously struck from the Naval Register, 1 July 1971; Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 13 June 1972 to North American Smelting Corp., Burlington, NJ. Halfbeak was awarded the Battle Efficiency "E" for 1966 and 1967 and held the "E" for Submarine Division 102 for 1968.
